The White House is preparing to host executives from the crypto and prediction market industries next Wednesday, as the Trump administration deepens its engagement with two of the fastest-growing areas of finance.
According to Politico, the gathering is still being organized, and the final guest list has not been confirmed. Executives from traditional financial companies may also attend, while it remains unclear whether President Donald Trump will participate.
The meeting comes one day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is scheduled to convene its new Innovation Advisory Committee, which includes executives from crypto, gambling, finance and prediction market companies.
Crypto regulation will likely be a major part of the discussion. The industry’s key legislative priority, the Clarity Act, remains pending in the Senate, which is expected to return to the bill after lawmakers come back from their August recess.
Prediction markets are also attracting greater attention in Washington as platforms such as Polymarket expand into politics, sports and financial events. Their rapid growth has raised questions over how these platforms should be regulated and where the line between financial markets and gambling should be drawn.
Investor takeaway: The meeting signals that crypto and prediction markets are becoming increasingly important to the Trump administration’s financial policy agenda. Regulatory decisions coming out of Washington could have significant implications for digital asset companies and rapidly growing prediction platforms.
