OpenAI introduced a suite of powerful new tools on Tuesday, designed to simplify how developers create AI-based applications, further fueling the competition in the generative AI space.
Among the key updates, OpenAI has rolled out a real-time tool allowing developers to build AI voice applications using a single set of instructions, replacing the previous three-step process of transcribing, running a text model, and using a text-to-speech engine.
Additionally, OpenAI has launched a fine-tuning feature that lets developers enhance AI models with human feedback and image-text integration, bolstering capabilities like visual search and autonomous vehicle object detection. The new “Prompt Caching” tool can reduce development costs by up to 50% by reusing previously processed text.
These innovations come as OpenAI anticipates a revenue surge to $11.6 billion next year, up from $3.7 billion in 2024, and pursues a $6.5 billion fundraise that could value the company at $150 billion.
