The Trump-Musk saga continues to spiral into uncharted territory. After days of explosive exchanges online and in the press, new reports reveal just how bitter the fallout has become—both politically and physically.

In an interview with NBC News on Saturday, President Trump confirmed the split is final:
“I would assume so, yeah,” he said when asked if his relationship with Elon Musk is over. On whether he would talk to Musk again: “Not particularly.”

But the real warning came when Trump was asked about Musk possibly supporting Democratic candidates. His response? “There will be very serious consequences.”

Physical Clash Inside the White House

According to The Washington Post, tensions had already boiled over back in April, when a physical fight broke out between Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The two reportedly got into a shouting match over Musk’s failed promises to uncover $1 trillion in government waste.

Steve Bannon, who recounted the incident, claimed Musk rammed Bessent “like a rugby player,” to which Bessent responded by hitting back before aides broke it up near the national security office.

“President Trump heard about it and said, ‘This is too much,’” Bannon told the Post.

Trump’s New Line of Attack

  • Musk’s government contracts may be on the chopping block. Trump said he will “take a look” at everything if it’s “fair for him and the country.”
  • Privately, Trump has reportedly been calling Musk a “big-time drug addict”, referencing media reports of ketamine and Adderall use.
  • Allies say Trump feels personally betrayed by Musk’s public criticism of his budget bill.

Fallout Risk for SpaceX, Tesla, Starlink

Federal contracts that could be threatened include:

  • NASA’s Artemis moon lander program
  • $70M+ Starlink military satellite services
  • Tesla’s access to federal EV subsidies and regulatory credits

Trump’s aides are reportedly assessing which contracts can be legally re-evaluated. At stake: billions of dollars and the federal government’s reliance on SpaceX for space missions and communications. (More about: Elon Musk Empire Under Fire: What Trump’s Revenge Could Mean for Tesla and SpaceX)

What Happens Next?

Musk has not responded to Trump’s latest comments, though he has deleted some of his more inflammatory posts about the president, suggesting Trump was named in the Epstein files. But sources close to both camps say reconciliation is off the table for now, and the feud may soon expand into legal or regulatory territory.

One White House insider summed it up:

“The door is shut. This isn’t just about policy anymore. It’s personal.”

In the interview, while talking to the media aboard his Air Force One, Donald Trump spoke about a bunch of issues, including his fallout with former top aide Elon Musk. Trump made his stand clear, saying that while people were trying to get them to reconcile, he wasn’t interested:
