Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event delivered a redesigned iPhone lineup led by the wafer-thin iPhone Air, Pro-class camera and thermal upgrades on iPhone 17 Pro/Max, heart-rate-reading AirPods Pro 3, and an Apple Watch that flags possible hypertension—preorders begin September 12, availability September 19.

iPhone Air (from $999): Apple’s thinnest iPhone at 5.6mm, Grade-5 titanium frame, 6.5-inch always-on display, A19 Pro with beefed-up AI acceleration, new N1 wireless chip and C1X modem, “all-day” battery, eSIM-only worldwide. Ships in four colours.

iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max (from $1,099): New aluminum unibody with vapor-chamber cooling for higher sustained performance; A19 Pro, brighter 120Hz displays, and Apple’s most advanced camera stack yet: three 48MP Fusion rear cameras with up to 8× optical-quality zoom plus a new 18MP “Center Stage” front camera. Pro video adds ProRes RAW, Log 2, and genlock.

iPhone 17 (from $799): Larger 6.3-inch screen, 120Hz ProMotion, Ceramic Shield 2 with 3× better scratch resistance, A19 chip, upgraded 48MP main camera, and the new Center Stage front camera. Base storage now 256GB.

AirPods & Watch

AirPods Pro 3 ($249): Heart-rate sensing, improved ANC, better fit (five ear-tip sizes), and live language translation via Apple Intelligence. On sale September 19.

Apple Watch Series 11 / SE 3 / Ultra 3: Series 11 adds a blood-pressure alert feature (pending FDA clearance), tougher glass, redesigned display, and 5G; Ultra 3 gets a larger display, satellite messaging/Find My, and up to 42-hour battery life; SE 3 gains always-on display and more health features.

Prices, dates, and availability

Preorders open Friday, September 12; in stores Friday, September 19 (additional regions September 26). iOS 26 rolls out Monday, September 15. Pro models offer expanded storage tiers up to 2TB on Pro Max.

Why it matters

Apple is leaning on design + sustained performance (new thermals, bigger batteries) and on-device AI hooks (A19/A19 Pro, N1) to re-energize upgrades while competitors push foldables. Early market reaction was cautious—AAPL slipped ~1–1.5% after the show on “sell-the-news” vibes and ongoing AI one-upmanship.

If you want the thinnest, most travel-friendly iPhone—and don’t need the Pro’s long-reach telephoto—the iPhone Air is the statement piece. Creators and mobile gamers should look at the 17 Pro/Max for the vapor-chamber thermals, 8× optical-quality zoom, and pro-video stack. The Watch Series 11 and AirPods Pro 3 deepen Apple’s health and fitness pitch with hypertension alerts and heart-rate in your ears.
