Why is crypto down today?

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has seen a slight decrease today. Over the past 24 hours, it fell 1% to $2.43 trillion.

Not many coins are green today. The best performer among the top 100 coins is BEAM with a 9.4% increase to $0.01866.

BONK is close, having recorded a 9.2% rise, now trading at $0.000026. MultiversX (EGLD) appreciated 5.8% to $31.97, while the rest of the green list is up below 5% each. On the other side, the coin with the biggest loss today is Starknet (STRK). It is down 7.4% to the price of $0.6406. Avalanche (AVAX) and Celestia (TIA) fell 5.9% and 5.4% to $28.2 and $5.8, respectively. Other coins on this list are down below 5% each.

When it comes to the top 10 coins per market capitalization, most coins went down over the past 24 hours.

Only three coins have seen their prices increase in this category. Toncoin (TON) appreciated the most. It’s up 4% to 8.05. Solana (SOL) and XRP have both seen small increases below 0.5%. SOL is trading at $147.73 and XRP at $0.48144.

On the other hand, Dogecoin (DOGE) is the only coin that’s down above 1%. Its price decreased by 1.7% to $0.12337. At the same time, Ethereum fell just below 1%, currently trading at $3,444. Bitcoin (BTC)’s price fell 0.3% to $62,681.

The remaining two red coins – BNB and Lido Staked Ether (STETH) – are also down below 1%. Meanwhile, SOL saw a rise in its price following VanEck’s recent filing for a spot Solana exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Speaking of which, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $129.45 million in daily net inflows on Monday, marking the fifth consecutive day of positive flows. This is also the highest level of fund intake since June 7.

Aave Launches GHO Stablecoin on Arbitrum with Chainlink CCIP

The Aave DAO has introduced GHO, a multi-collateralized stablecoin, on the Arbitrum network as part of its cross-chain expansion strategy. Utilizing Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), GHO aims to enhance accessibility, reduce transaction costs, and improve liquidity. Each supported chain will have its version of GHO, backed by Ethereum reserves. The Arbitrum DAO allocated 750,000 ARB to facilitate the launch.
