Elon Musk has secured a $1.08 billion deal to ensure xAI is first in line for Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs. Musk personally approached Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, offering a premium to expedite the order.
This indicates that xAI will likely be among the first to receive these GPUs.
This move supports xAI’s focus on advancing its AI infrastructure. The company previously built the Colossus supercomputer with 100,000 Nvidia H200 GPUs and plans to double its capacity.
Adding GB200 GPUs is expected to further strengthen xAI’s capabilities in training and inference tasks, positioning the company to compete more effectively in the rapidly evolving AI industry.
