Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss Lead Bitcoin Contributions
A Federal Election Commission filing highlighted that the “Trump 47” joint fundraising committee raised over $118 million between April 1 and June 30, with notable Bitcoin contributions totalling $2.15 million from 19 donors. Among the top contributors, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss donated 15.57 Bitcoins each, exceeding the $844,600 limit, resulting in partial refunds. BitGo CEO Mike Belshe also contributed $50,000 in Bitcoin.
Trump campaign aide Brian Hughes confirmed that Bitcoin constituted most of the $4 million raised in crypto. Hughes criticized the Biden-Harris Administration for stifling innovation with regulations and taxes, contrasting it with Trump’s support for American leadership in emerging technologies.
