The billionaire entrepreneur behind OnlyFans, Leonid Radvinsky, has died after a battle with cancer, leaving behind one of the most controversial and profitable platforms in the digital economy.

Leonid Radvinsky, the owner of OnlyFans, has died at the age of 43, the company confirmed. He passed away peacefully after a long illness.

Radvinsky bought OnlyFans in 2018 and transformed it into a global platform, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, the site exploded in popularity, later generating $1.4 billion in revenue and processing more than $7 billion in transactions in 2024 alone.

The platform, founded in 2016, allows creators to earn money through subscriptions, tips, and exclusive content. While it hosts various content types, it became widely known for adult content, taking a 20% cut from creator earnings.

At its peak, OnlyFans had over 377 million users and 4.6 million creators, making it one of the most influential platforms in the creator economy.

Radvinsky, originally from Ukraine and raised in Chicago, had an estimated net worth of $4.7 billion. Beyond OnlyFans, he invested in tech startups through his venture firm, Leo.com, and supported cancer research initiatives.

His death comes as the company continues to face regulatory scrutiny and evolving challenges around content moderation and platform transparency.
