President Donald Trump said the war with Iran will end only when he personally believes the time is right, offering no clear timeline for when the conflict might stop.
In an interview with Fox News Radio, Trump said the war could end soon but ultimately suggested that the decision would depend on his own judgment.
“When are you going to know when it’s over?” host Brian Kilmeade asked. “When I feel it,” Trump replied. “When I feel it in my bones.”
No Clear Timeline for the Conflict
Trump has repeatedly suggested the war may end soon, though officials in his administration have given conflicting signals about how long the fighting could last.
Earlier this month, Trump said the conflict could end in “four weeks or less.”
But US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth later declined to estimate how long the war might continue.
A White House spokesperson said “Operation Epic Fury will continue until Iran no longer poses a military threat.”
Trump Says the Economy Will Recover Quickly
Despite rising oil prices and global market volatility triggered by the war, Trump said he believes the US economy will rebound quickly once the conflict ends.
“When it’s over, this is going to bounce right back so fast,” Trump said.
The war, launched by US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February, has already had major global consequences, including disruptions to oil shipments and surging energy prices.
Oil Supply Disruptions and Rising Costs
The conflict has already triggered one of the largest oil supply disruptions in modern history, with tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.
Trump has sought to downplay the economic impact, saying higher oil prices could also benefit the United States.
“The United States is the largest oil producer in the world, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money,” he wrote on Truth Social.
For now, the president says the war will continue until its objectives are achieved.
“We don’t want to leave early,” Trump told supporters. “We’ve got to finish the job.”
